In search of Fall

Autumn, Where are you?
My favorite season seems so far away here in Arkansas. My heart longs for cool temperatures, crisp days, and cozy sweaters.
I became spoiled with early falls in Alaska and Montana.
I remind myself to be patient, it will come, and to take peace in the beauty that surrounds me in this moment.

90 degree temperatures in the first week of Fall, that called for a drive into the Ozarks and a stop at a swimming hole to cool off.

The Buffalo National River was beautiful and I did find a few hints of the coming Autumn woven throughout our day.

Summer found one last hurrah as the kids spent hours swimming in the crystal clear water.
Fall will come, but for now I will embrace the exuberance of my children, the cool water against my legs on a hot day, and the joy of spending a day with the ones I love.

Yes Fall will come, but for today I take peace in the simple pleasures of a great day.
