More New Mexico...and help with a new name for the blog
Hi all. Thanks for the warm welcome back.
Mr. W is growing like a weed. I think he is up to about 7 and 1/2 lbs now and will be 6 weeks old this Monday! Time if flying by. A and I are getting ready to start back to homeschool this coming Monday as well. I will post more on that later, but for now I thought I would share a little more about where we moved too. Plus I could use yalls help. I need a new blog name and addy, not really feeling Beringseaadventures, now that we are in New Mexico LOL. So throw some suggestions my way.
Anyway, we live in a rural part of Northern New Mexico. It is classified as high desert and is absolutely gorgeous. Our house is about 5 minutes from Pecos National Historic Park and we have an annual pass. We have been taking full advantage of it, already going 3 times, all before I got put on bedrest LOL.
The views around my house are spectacular. So different from Alaska, but just as breathtaking in their own way.
An original wall in the National Park built by the Pueblo Indians who once inhabited this area.
A ladder leading into a Kiva (underground ceremonial building) set against the New Mexican sky. Amazing.
...and we have cacti yall! LOL
My beautiful girl is growing so fast. See the scars on her face (luckily they have faded a lot now), those are from a mountain biking accident where she crashed into barb wire. Injured her risk pretty badly as well.
The incredible mesas that line out valley.
The national park not only contains remnants of the pueblos but also the Spanish mission that was built when the Spanish explored and settled this area.
I'll leave you with this beautiful moment.
A shaft of light filters in through the opening of a Kiva.
Have a blessed night.
